Where the numbers come from

One rule covers all of it: a date or a specification is only published once it appears on a page the manufacturer controls. We do not source from rumour accounts, supply-chain leaks or other outlets, and we do not publish a date we cannot link.

Launch dates

The manufacturer's own announcement, newsroom post, official product page or verified brand account. Listed row by row, with a link, on the release calendar.

Specifications

The manufacturer's published spec sheet, quoted verbatim. Where a global and a regional page disagree, we use the global (or EU) page's value and say so.

Prices

The first market a phone goes on sale in, with an approximate euro and dollar conversion at the rate on the day of writing. Conversions are marked as conversions, never presented as a local price.

Release cycle

Derived from the real, dated launch history of each product line. A next-generation date is an estimate from that line's own cadence until the manufacturer announces one, and is labelled as an estimate until then.

Currency of the data

The release calendar prints the date its underlying data last changed. That date comes from version control, not from the build clock, so a rebuild that changed nothing cannot claim an update.

What we do not have

We do not test phones in a lab. We have no benchmark scores of our own, no battery-drain runs and no camera comparisons shot by us. Where a figure comes from the manufacturer, it is the manufacturer's claim and the article says so. Treating a spec sheet as a measurement is the most common way phone coverage misleads, and we would rather be narrow and checkable than broad and unverifiable.

Using our data

Our release dates, release-cycle data and charts are free to quote in editorial work, including commercially, with attribution. We ask for one thing in return, and we ask for it explicitly: the credit should be a normal, followed link. Please do not add rel="nofollow" or rel="sponsored" to it, because nothing was paid for or exchanged in either direction, and a followed link is the only part of this that is worth anything to us. Link to the specific page you took the figure from rather than the home page, and where you are quoting one launch, the calendar gives every row its own anchor so you can link exactly that line. What we ask you not to do is republish the calendar wholesale as your own table: quote the rows your story needs and send your reader here for the rest.

For journalists

Need a launch date confirmed, a spec checked against the manufacturer's own sheet, or the release history of a product line for a story? Ask. If we have it, you get it with the source attached and no conditions. If we do not have it, or cannot verify it, we will say so rather than guess. We can usually answer within a day.
