Apple iPhone Duo · The first foldable iPhone is a wide fold
Apple has finally built a foldable, and it did not copy the Galaxy Z Fold. The iPhone Duo closes into a squat, passport-shaped phone with a 5.4-inch cover screen and opens sideways into a wide 7.6-inch display in a 1.4:1 shape – the same idea Huawei and Xiaomi got to first. Inside sits the A20 Pro, a vapor chamber and two batteries; outside, grade 5 titanium and a dust-tight IP68 rating that most foldables still cannot claim. It is also 254 grams, and it starts at $1,999 / €2,299 when it reaches shops on 23 October.

Xiaomi's first wide fold folds the short way: a 5.38-inch cover screen opens into a 7.58-inch landscape panel, and both peak at 4,000 nits. It is also the first foldable to run XRING O3, Xiaomi's own 3 nm flagship chip, alongside a 200 MP Leica main camera and 6,000 mAh in a body 5.02 mm thick unfolded. Prices start at ¥10,999, roughly €1,410, and for now it is sold only in China.
